Chris Poland, geboren am 1. Dezember 1957 in Dunkirk, New York, ist ein berühmter amerikanischer Gitarrist, der für seine Vielseitigkeit in Genres wie Thrash Metal, Instrumental Rock, Jazz Fusion, Progressive Metal und Heavy Metal bekannt ist. Chris Poland wurde als ursprünglicher Lead-Gitarrist der Thrash-Metal-Band Megadeth bekannt und wirkte an den bahnbrechenden Alben Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good! (1985) und Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? (1986) bei, auf denen er seine komplexen, von Jazz beeinflussten Gitarrensoli präsentierte. Nach seiner Zeit bei Megadeth begann Chris Poland eine vielseitige Karriere, veröffentlichte Soloalben, darunter das von der Kritik hochgelobte Return to Metalopolis (1990), und gründete Bands wie OHM und OHMphrey, mit denen er die Bereiche Instrumentalrock und Jazzfusion weiter erkundete.
