Der Fluch is a German music project founded in 1981 by Deutscher W. as a side project of the punk band OHL. Initially influenced by psychobilly groups such as The Cramps and The Meteors, as well as OHL, the band released its debut album on Rock-O-Rama in 1982, followed by the single “Gesandter des Grauens.” After a 12-year hiatus, Der Fluch returned in 1994 with Für immer, adopting a heavier sound while retaining lyrics inspired by Hammer and Universal horror films. The band subsequently released three more albums through 2002 and appeared on numerous compilations. Recognized as an early influence on German gothic rock, Der Fluch has continued to perform sporadically and appeared at Wave-Gotik-Treffen in 2007.
