Justin Rakotondrasoa, also known as Justin Vali, was born in Madagascar and is a musician known for his expertise with the valiha, a Malagasy bamboo tube zither. He began his musical journey by appearing on several world music compilations in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 1994, he released his debut album Ny Marina at Real World Studios for Peter Gabriel's label Real World Records. He followed this with The Sunshine Within in collaboration with Paddy Bush in 1999. In 2006, he received the Grand Prix de la musique traditionnelle de la SACEM. He also contributed to the album Malagasy All Stars in 2008 alongside other Malagasy musicians like Erick Manana.
