The Blue Riddim Band was an American reggae band based in Kansas City, Missouri. Notable members included Scott Korchak on vocals and Jimmy Becker on harmonica. The group emerged from Rhythm Funkshun in Miami in the mid-1970s under the direction of instrumentalist and composer Bob Zohn and drummer Steve "Duck" McLane. The band released their debut studio album Restless Spirit in 1981 via Flying Fish Records, with Lloyd James supervising the final mix. In 1982, Blue Riddim Band became the first US-based group to perform at Jamaica's Reggae Sunsplash festival. Their performance was recorded as Alive in Jamaica (1984) and nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 1986. In the mid-1980s, a dispute over the band's name led to a change to Strategic Dance Initiative (SDI). The band was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame in 2007.
