Chastain, an American heavy metal band, was formed in 1984 by guitarist David T. Chastain and signed to Shrapnel Records. The band's inception was driven by Mike Varney, president of Shrapnel, who recognized Chastain's guitar talent and aimed to showcase the vocal abilities of Leather Leone. Their debut album Mystery of Illusion was released in 1985, followed by Ruler of the Wasteland in 1986 and The 7th of Never in 1987. Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, Chastain released several albums, including The Voice of the Cult (1988) and For Those Who Dare (1990), with various lineup changes. After a period of hiatus, the band returned in 1995 with Sick Society, followed by In Dementia in 1997. Chastain reformed in 2013 with original vocalist Leather Leone and released Surrender to No One.
