Maniática, a punk rock group from Villena, Alicante, Spain, was formed in 1986. Their first release was a single in 1987 featuring "El parado y la cocina sin pagar" and "E-C-O-L-Ó-G-I-C-O-R-O-C-K-A-N-D-R-O-L-L". In 1988, they released their first demo, Vitaminas A, which included socially conscious tracks like "¿A ti que más te da?" and "Maldita historia, maldita hostia", as well as more lighthearted songs such as "Pepino" and "El obseso". The band's second release, Maniacrítica, was issued in 1990. Notable tracks included the heavy metal-influenced "Por ti" and "Blues social". In 1992, they released El lado oscuro. The band disbanded in 1995 after releasing their final tape, Pero que no sea el último paso. Maniática reunited in 2003 with a self-titled album featuring 20 regrabbed tracks and 4 new songs.
