Bradley Leighton is back with Big Island Smoothie groove-driven contemporary jazz, the first taste of a new 2027 album.
Bradley Leighton is a contemporary jazz flutist whose sound blends jazz, R&B, funk and blues with a deep, groove-driven feel. A former U.S. Army bandsman, Bradley has spent decades performing, touring and recording, releasing six albums over the course of his career.
His playing reflects the music that shaped him — from the hard-driving big bands of Maynard Ferguson, Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich and Woody Herman to the funk and soul of the Brecker Brothers and Tower of Power.
After several years away from recording, Bradley returns with “Big Island Smoothie,” his first new single in more than four years and the beginning of a new album project planned for 2027.
