Pete Samples was the electronic music project of Canadian musician Brent Freedman. He began experimenting with electronic music and moved to Montreal, where he studied fine art at Concordia University. Freedman started performing and recording under the name Pete Samples, releasing his debut album An Unsent Letter in 2004. His second album, Yours Makes Mine, was released in 2007 and charted on the !Earshot National Campus and Community Radio Association electronic charts for that year. In 2010, the project's single "Bekonscot" was played regularly on campus and community radio, leading to a performance at the Halifax Pop Explosion. Freedman later shifted his focus toward woodworking and furniture design, releasing a final album under the Pete Samples name, Bekonscot, in 2010. The project went on hiatus by 2013 as Freedman concentrated on his furniture design company, Gamla.
