Ratt, an American glam metal band originating from Hollywood in 1973, was formed by singer Stephen Pearcy. Initially known as Firedome and later Crystal Pystal, the band evolved through various lineup changes before changing their name to Mickey Ratt in 1976 and settling with Ratt in 1977. In 1982, guitarist Warren DeMartini joined the band. Ratt signed with Atlantic Records after releasing a self-titled EP in 1983 that sold over 100,000 records. Their debut full-length album Out of the Cellar (1984) featured hit singles like "Round and Round" and "Wanted Man", achieving significant chart success with "Round and Round" peaking at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album went platinum three times in the United States, establishing Ratt as a prominent figure in the glam metal scene of the 1980s.
