Mark Hewerdine, known professionally as Boo Hewerdine and born on February 14, 1961, is a singer-songwriter from North London. He began his musical journey by forming a short-lived band during his teenage years. In 1983, Hewerdine joined The Great Divide, which released their debut single "Who Broke the Love Bank" through Wimp Records. After leaving The Great Divide, Hewerdine formed The Bible in 1985 with jazz drummer Tony Shepherd and former bandmate Kevin Flanagan. Their first album Walking The Ghost Back Home was released in 1986 on Backs Records. The Bible signed to Chrysalis Records at the end of 1986, re-releasing "Graceland," which reached number 86 in the UK singles chart. Hewerdine left The Bible in 1990 to pursue solo projects and released his debut album Ignorance in 1992. He continued releasing albums such as Baptist Hospital (1996), God Bless The Pretty Things (2009), and Things Found in Books (2022).
