Luis Delgado Delgado, born 17 July 1956 in Madrid, Spain, is a composer and multi‑instrumentalist. He began performing at age fourteen with the Gazpar Sanz String Orchestra under the direction of Manuel Grandío, and later studied Indian, Iranian, Andalusian, and African percussion, developing a broad sonic palette. His early career featured the 1986 album Vathek: Procesos electrónicos para instrumentos acústicos, followed by Un mundo sin fronteras (1995). Subsequent releases include El sueño de Al-Zaqqâq (1998), El hechizo de Babilonia (2000), As‑Sirr (2007), and a 2017 edition of Vathek. Delgado has composed soundtracks for television series such as Alquibla and for the Madrid Planetarium, and has collaborated with ensembles like Ibn Báya and Cálamus. Delgado has won several awards including the 2000 Troubador Award and the 2023 Research Award from the Association of Friends of the Joaquin Diaz Foundation.
