Gabino Palomares Gómez, also known as Gabino Palomares, was born on May 26, 1950, in Comonfort, Guanajuato, Mexico, and is a singer, songwriter, and social activist. He launched his music career with his first performance, "Poemas y Canciones," in 1972. He gained recognition through university song festivals in 1972 and 1973. In 1975, he moved to Mexico City, performing at various venues. His breakthrough came with the release of his debut album, La maldición de Malinche, in 1975, featuring notable songs like "La maldición de Malinche" and "A la patria." He became a prominent figure in the Canto Nuevo movement, collaborating with artists such as Amparo Ochoa. His international career flourished through performances at festivals across Latin America, Europe, and North America. Notable albums include Fabricando la luz (1980) and México a través de su canto (2010).
