Itoiz were a Basque pop and rock ensemble from Mutriku and Ondarroa active between 1978 and 1988. The group emerged from the ensemble Indar Trabes, which formed in 1974. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording Itoiz (1978), which featured the tracks “Lau teilatu” (1978) and “Hilzori I” (1978). In 1980, they released the conceptual studio recording Ezekiel, which featured a children's chorus. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style evolving from progressive rock to pop-rock around 1983. Their discography includes the studio recordings Alkolea (1982), Musikaz blai (1983), and Espaloian (1985). They achieved professional recognition for the tracks “Marea gora” (1983), “Hegal egiten” (1985), and “Clash eta Pistols” (1985). They achieved professional recognition despite criticism from the radical punk rock movement. The ensemble released the studio recording Ambulance (1987) before becoming inactive in 1988 following a final concert and the live recording ...eremuko dunen atzetik dabil (1988).
