Dance Or Die is a German electronic band formed in 1988 in Berlin by Andreas Goldacker and Gary Wagner. Their debut mini-album, Dance or Die, released on Machinery Records in 1990, featured a title track that became popular in central and northern Europe. The band continued with albums such as 3001 (1991) and Psychoburbia (1992). Heiko Duus, known as Falgalas, joined in 1993 for live touring and later became a full member. In 1997, they signed with Polydor's imprint What's Up?! and released the album Dehumanizer. Chris L., also known as Christian Lorenz, joined in 1998 initially for live support but eventually became a vocalist. In 2001, they released Schlafendeenergie on Synthetic Symphony. After a decade of relative silence, the band returned with Nostradamnation in 2011. Following this release, three members—Wagner, Duus, and Lorenz—continued under the name Darkness on Demand.
