Chaosbreed, a Finnish death metal band, was formed in 2003 by Taneli Jarva, Esa Holopainen, Marko Tarvonen, Nalle Österman, and Olli-Pekka "Oppu" Laine. The group quickly released their debut demo Unleashed Carnage in 2003, which was later expanded and pressed on CD by Rising Realm Records. In September 2003, Chaosbreed began recording their debut album Brutal at the CCPC Studio with support from Santeri Kallio and Niclas Etelävuori of Amorphis. The album was released in 2004 by Century Media Records. Shortly after, they collaborated with Finnish hardcore band Rytmihäiriö for a split release in 2004. In April 2005, the band announced their separation from Jarva and Holopainen and plans to tour with Grave, but these plans were later canceled.
