Nothing Painted Blue was an American indie rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1987, led by songwriter Franklin Bruno. The band's initial lineup included drummer Kyle Brodie and Peter Hughes, with Bruno and Brodie being the only constant members throughout their career. They released their debut album, A Baby A Blanket A Packet Of Seeds, in 1990, following which they continued to release a series of albums including Power Trips Down Lovers Lane (1993), Placeholders (1994), and Emotional Discipline (1997). Notable singles from these releases included "Sorely Tempted" (1993) and "President Am I" (1995). The band's 1998 album, The Monte Carlo Method, was named after a mathematical concept, reflecting Bruno's background in mathematics. Their final studio album, Taste The Flavor, was released in 2005.
