The Crest, a gothic metal band, was formed in Oslo, Norway, by Nell Sigland and Kristian Sigland in 1996. Their debut studio album, Letters from Fire, was released in 2002 under Season of Mist and was recorded at Sound Suite Studio in France. In 2005, the group issued Vain City Chronicles, recorded at Top Room Studio, and embarked on a European tour supporting Mortiis. The band disbanded in 2010.
