Brittni Paiva, born Brittni Kahealani Paiva on September 28, 1988, in Hilo, Hawaii, is an American musician, songwriter, and music producer of Portuguese, Danish, Japanese, and Hawaiian descent. Beginning piano lessons at age four and receiving her first ukulele at eleven, she honed guitar, bass, and drums during her teens and began performing live by 2003. Paiva’s debut album Brittni x 3 (2004) earned the 2005 Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Most Promising Artist of the Year. She followed with Four Strings: The Fire Within (2009) and Tell U What (2012), the latter featuring Michael McDonald and Chuck Findley and winning the 2013 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards for Ukulele Album of the Year and Instrumental Composition of the Year. Paiva toured internationally, collaborated with Carlos Santana, and gave private music lessons at the Brittni Paiva School of Music.
