Blóð, a French doom metal band, was founded in 2018 by Ulrich "Dagoth" Wegrich and his partner Anne Wegrich. The duo, inspired by their personal experiences, created Blóð to explore their musical ideas without emulating any specific group. Their debut album, Blóð, released in 2020, via MusikÖEye, received critical acclaim for its originality and atmospheric qualities. Following the release, they performed several concerts in France and became known for their intimate settings enhanced by red lighting, candles, and incense. Their second album, Serpent, released in 2021, through Malpermesita Records, was praised as a concept album centered around witchcraft and was later recognized as one of the best releases of the year. The band's third studio album, Mara, released in June 2024 via Talheim Records, also received high praise for its technical proficiency and emotional depth.
