Manicured Noise was a British post-punk band formed in Stockport, Manchester, England, in 1977 and initially included Owen Gavin on vocals and Stephanie Nuttal on drums. After lineup changes, including Steve Walsh as guitarist and vocalist, Manicured Noise released their debut single "Metronome" in 1980, followed by "Faith" in June of the same year. These singles were part of a set of demos recorded in September 1979. Internal issues led to the band's dissolution in 1980. Manicured Noise's music was admired by bands such as Siouxsie And The Banshees and Wire, although they did not achieve significant commercial success during their active years. Their sole album, Northern Stories 1978/80, was released in 2006.
