Brando, born Marlon Lamont McClain II in Los Angeles, California, United States, is an American singer and songwriter. The son of Dazz Band and Pleasure guitarist Marlon McClain, he began writing songs at age 12. He achieved international prominence in 2017 as the featured vocalist on Loud Luxury's hit single “Body”, which reached number 7 on the ARIA Singles Chart, earned 7× Platinum certification from ARIA, Diamond certification from Music Canada, and Platinum certification from the RIAA. Following this success, Brando signed with Armada Music and launched his solo recording career with the single “Drop Top” in 2019. In 2020, he released the solo single “Look into My Eyes”, which reached number 24 on the ARIA Singles Chart and earned ARIA 2× Platinum certification after topping Australian radio airplay for 10 weeks. He released his debut extended play, Slip N Slide, in 2021, which included the singles “Close to You”, “Yes or No”, and “All Night”. He subsequently released his debut studio album, Shut Up & Dance, and the extended play We Do This in 2024, yielding the singles “Burn It Down”, “Too Close”, and “Suburbia” featuring Travie McCoy. In 2025, he collaborated with LMNT 115 on the single “Holding On to Us”.
