Flat Moon is a band from Leeds that mixes funk, soul, jazz and rock in a spirit of exchange and improvisation. The collective formed in 2019 consists of seven musicians: Ali McCarthy and Mr Dic Dohmon on bass and vocals, George Copeland on percussion, keyboards and vocals, Jacob Kendrew on lead guitar, piano and vocals, Matt Floon on guitar and vocals, Scarlet Bishop on saxophone and Sam Jones on drums. Since appearing with the single "Vultures" in 2020, Flat Moon has released a number of albums, including the EP Space Juice (2020) and tracks such as "Demise" and "Filet-o-Freak " in 2021, "Smile While You Can" and "Cliché " in 2022 and "Circus Promiscuous " in 2023. Released in 2024, "Dizzy" was the first single from the album Cookin' Up a Groove (January 2026), which also included the tracks "A Moon's Bouche", "Schleep" and "Ndujathinkhesaurus", and reached No. 11 in the UK singles chart.
