Tim Story, born in 1957 in Philadelphia, United States, is an American composer and pianist. He adopted a meticulous, highly stylized ambient style, using the piano and keyboards in compositions reminiscent of the work of Erik Satie. He launched his recording career with the debut album Threads (1981), followed by In Another Country (1982), and recorded for labels such as Hearts of Space and Windham Hill Records. He released several solo albums, including Three Feet From the Moon (1985), Beguiled (1991), and The Perfect Flaw (1994). In 2002, he collaborated with Hans-Joachim Roedelius on the album Lunz, and they subsequently reunited for the collaborative album Inlandish (2008). He also collaborated with Dwight Ashley and Roedelius on the album Errata (2008).
