Frederick Figglehorn is a fictional character created and portrayed by American Internet personality Lucas Cruikshank for the YouTube web series Fred. Cruikshank introduced the character in 2006 on the channel JKL Productions before transferring the videos to a dedicated Fred channel in 2008, which became the first YouTube channel to surpass one million subscribers in 2009. Under the character's name, Cruikshank released the holiday EP It's Hackin' Christmas with Fred in 2009 and the studio album Who's Ready to Party? in 2010. The character's popularity led to a franchise partnership with Nickelodeon, producing the television films Fred: The Movie in 2010, Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred in 2011, and Fred 3: Camp Fred in 2012, as well as the television series Fred: The Show in 2012. The character also made crossover appearances on the television series iCarly and the web series Annoying Orange.
