Julien Pradeyrol, known professionally as Teki Latex, was born in 1978 in Paris’s 14th arrondissement, France, and works as a singer, producer, DJ and rapper. He entered the music scene in the mid-1990s as a member of the rap collective Baldazz, later renamed TTC with Cuizinier and Tido Berman; the group released the early EP Game Over 99 in 1999, attracting the British label Big Dada. TTC’s debut album Ceci n’est pas un disque (2002) was followed by Bâtards sensibles (2004), an electro-styled record that earned the group a nomination for the Victoires de la Musique in 2005. In 2007, Teki Latex issued his solo debut Party de plaisir, featuring the single “Les Matins de Paris” with Lio, which reached the French top 15. He followed with the 2009 album Mes pelures sont plus belles que vos fruits and then shifted focus to electronic DJing, co-founding the label Sound Pellegrino with DJ Orgasmic. The duo launched the Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team and released the 2008 EP The Sixpack Anthem. From 2013 to 2016, Teki Latex hosted the online show Overdrive Infinity. Since 2016, he has handled the programming of Boiler Room events in Paris, and he secured a residency on BBC Radio 1’s BBC Residency in 2020. His work remained active across French and international electronic and hip-hop circles for many years.
