The Uninvited is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1988, the ensemble originally consisted of the brothers John Taylor and Steven Taylor, bassist Bill Cory and drummer James “Trainwreck” Robinson. Following the departure of Robinson in 1991, the group was joined by drummer Bruce Logan. The band released its debut studio album, Pop This, in 1992 through the label Half-Baked Records. Their recording history also featured the studio albums Too High (1994) and Artificial Hip (1996), the latter released through the label Roarshack Records. In 1991, the ensemble won the MTV Beach House Band contest. After signing with Atlantic Records, the group issued its eponymous major label debut, The Uninvited, in 1998. The record featured the alternative radio tracks “What God Said” and “Too High for the Supermarket”. During its career, the ensemble’s music has appeared on television programs including Party of Five, Beverly Hills 90210, Road Rules and The Real World. The musician Frederick “Ladd” Story replaced Cory as the ensemble’s bassist in 1999. Their later recording history included the studio albums It's All Good (1999) and Malltopia (2001). Following an extended hiatus that began in 2002, the brothers resumed activity in 2019 with a new lineup. Their later recording history featured the studio recording Broken Promiseland (2023).
