Sagarika Mukherjee, known mononymously as Sagarika, was born on September 4, 1970, in Guwahati, Assam, India. She is an Indian singer who began her career as a child playback singer in the Bollywood film Shaayad (1979) and the Bengali film Agnishuddi (1984). Additionally, she acted in various films such as Shyam Saheb (1986) and Kalishankar (2007). Her breakthrough came with her solo album Maa (1998), followed by Mere Liye (2001), which featured collaborations with her brother Shaan, Zubeen Garg, and Suchitra Pillai. In 2006, she released It's All About Love, distributed by Universal Distribution, which included the collaboration "Pal" with Pakistani band Strings. She has also contributed to several Assamese albums and original soundtracks, including Pansoi and Meghor Boron.
