Joseph Iadone, born on September 5, 1914, in the United States of America, was an American lutenist. He attended Yale University, where he studied with composer Paul Hindemith, who suggested that Iadone take up the lute. In the late 1950s, Iadone helped James Tyler study the lute. Throughout his career, Iadone was a member of various bands, including New York Pro Musica, Renaissance Quartet, and Iadone Consort. His notable work includes the album The Art of the Lute, released in 1995. Joseph Iadone passed away on March 23, 2004, at a retirement home in New Haven, Connecticut.
