Air Traffic Control, a power pop/rock band from Nova Scotia, Canada, was formed in 1993 by brothers Kirk Comstock and Jordi Comstock, who had performed since childhood under the name Madhat. Their early releases as Madhat included the 1993 EP Freak and the 1995 EP Hardhitters. In 2005, with guitarist Phillip Clark, the group renamed itself Air Traffic Control and released a self-titled album in February that year, earning a nomination for New Group of Year at the Nova Scotia Music Week conference. Subsequent releases, including To Be Free (2007) and Tear the House Down (2012), expanded their catalog, while their track "Feel Proud" appeared in the EA game Rugby 2005. The band received a Rock Recording of the Year nomination from the East Coast Music Association in 2011. After 2012, the group entered a hiatus; Jordi Comstock worked with other bands before Air Traffic Control returned with No Horse Kids in 2021.
