Scissorfight, a four-piece American stoner metal band from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, formed in 1995. The original lineup consisted of guitarist Jay Fortin, bassist Paul Jarvis, and drummer Joel Muzzey. Their debut album Guaranteed Kill was released in 1996. They signed with independent label Tortuga Recordings to release New Hampshire in 2000. They played at the River Rave festival alongside Cypress Hill and Stone Temple Pilots, and were featured on MTV's You Hear It First segment. The band released several EPs, including "Victory Over Horseshit" (2005) and full-length albums such as Jaggernaut in 2007. The band was named best hard rock band at the Boston Music Awards in both 2003 and 2004. After a nearly ten-year hiatus, they returned in 2016 with a new vocalist, drummer, and EP titled Chaos County. The band announced their disbandment in July 2025 following two farewell shows.
