Kepone, an American indie rock band from Richmond, Virginia, was formed in 1991. The group derived its name from the Kepone crisis that affected the Richmond area in the 1970s. Initially a side project of Michael Bishop from Gwar, the original lineup included guitarist Tim Harriss and drummer Seth Harris. Kepone released their debut album, Ugly Dance, through Quarterstick Records in 1994. Following the departure of Harris, Ed Trask joined the band. They went on to release two more albums, Skin (1995) and Kepone (1997). The band disbanded after their final album but reunited for sporadic performances, including shows at the Gwar-B-Q festival in 2011 and 2014.
