Bingo Gazingo was an American poet and singer who was born as Murray Wachs in Queens, New York, in 1924. He achieved professional recognition in 1997 with his debut eponymous recording and is famous for a unique performance style involving stream-of-consciousness poetry read over improvised musical accompaniment. His discography includes the album Bingo Gazingo (1997), which was released on cassette by WFMU and featured collaborations with several DJs. He also contributed the track "Everything's O.K. at the O.K. Corral" (1996) to a compilation produced by the Fast Folk Cafe. Gazingo performed at events including the Outsider Music Festival and made appearances on the television programs Beyond Vaudeville (1996) and Oddville (1997). He performed regularly at the Bowery Poetry Club until his death in 2010.
