Tian Zhen, born Tian Zhen on 2 May 1966 in Beijing, China, is a Chinese rock singer whose career began in the early 1980s after graduating from The Affiliated High School of Peking University. She entered the music scene with early singles such as "Beautiful Bay" (1984) and "Nameless Little Flower" (1984), which established her presence in the burgeoning Asian rock scene. Her breakthrough came with the 1995 single "Perseverance" (执着), which received widespread airplay and set the stage for her self‑titled album 田震 (1996). Subsequent releases-including "Cheers, Mate" (干杯，朋友, 1998) and the 2005 album 38.5℃-solidified her status as a prominent female vocalist. Throughout her career, Tian Zhen collaborated with notable figures in Chinese rock and performed on national tours, contributing to the genre’s growth. She was recognized for chart success with multiple singles reaching top positions on domestic charts, and her 2005 album 38.5℃ earned critical acclaim for its fusion of rock and traditional elements. Tian Zhen’s health challenges, including thrombocytopenia diagnosed around 2006, did not halt her artistic output; she continued to release music such as "Thanks Tian" (干杯，田震, 2006). Her influence endures through posthumous compilations and continued recognition as a key figure in modern Chinese rock.
