Bass Brothers is an American record producer duo comprising brothers Mark and Jeff Bass, who also operate under the name F.B.T. Productions. The duo began its career in 1990, producing a hip-hop rap project called Tycie & Woody for Elektra Records under the name Funky Bass Brothers. After collaborating with George Clinton, tracks from their sessions ended up on the P-Funk All Stars album Dope Dogs (1995). In 1992, Mark Bass heard a rapper named Eminem, then known as M&M, freestyling on a local radio show and invited him to the studio. The brothers subsequently helped Eminem with the creation of his debut album, Infinite (1996). Jeff Bass co-produced several of Eminem's hit singles, including "Without Me" (2002), "Beautiful" (2009), and "Lose Yourself" (2002). For co-writing "Lose Yourself" from the film 8 Mile (2002), Jeff Bass won an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2003. Mark Bass also produced the George Clinton album George Clinton and His Gangsters of Love, which was released on September 16, 2008. The duo also owns the record label WEB Entertainment.
