Pigface is an American industrial rock supergroup formed in 1990 by Martin Atkins and Bill Rieflin. The group originated from the worldwide tour of Ministry's The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste, which featured Atkins, Nivek Ogre, and Chris Connelly. Following the tour, Atkins and Rieflin decided to continue their collaboration, recruiting various musicians from the previous tour to form the band. The collective was known for its rotating lineup of collaborators, ensuring that each album and song were unique. Notable collaborators included Trent Reznor, who co-wrote and sang on the song "“Suck”" before Nine Inch Nails came to public prominence with the track. Releases include the studio albums Gub (1991), Fook (1992), and Notes From Thee Underground (1994), alongside the remix album Washingmachine Mouth (1993) and the live album Welcome to Mexico... Asshole (1991). Live performances of the band were characterized by high-energy shows featuring multiple musicians on stage, often with direct audience interaction. Despite criticisms of a perceived lack of continuity due to its rotating lineup, the group's dynamic and experimental approach left a significant mark on the industrial rock scene.
