Monolake is a German electronic music project founded in 1995, originally consisting Gerhard Behles and Robert Henke, with Henke later continuing the project alone after Behles focused on Ableton. The group first gained attention with early releases such as Cinemascope (2001) and Gravity (2001), which showcased a minimal, dub‑influenced techno style that helped define the Chain Reaction label’s sound. Subsequent albums, including Momentum (2003), Silence (2009), and later Ghosts (2012) and VLSI (2016), expanded their catalog. Monolake’s innovative Monodeck hardware, which allowed for spontaneous editing and effects work during live performances.
