Corde Oblique is the solo project of by Riccardo Prencipe founded in 1999 and known for its ethereal progressive neofolk sound. Prencipe began his musical journey with the neomedieval gothic band Lupercalia. Their music often explored themes from Italian art history, reflecting Prencipe's background as an art historian. Corde Oblique's first album, Respiri, was released in 2005 under ARK Records/Masterpiece. The project gained international recognition with subsequent albums such as Volontà d'arte (2007) and The Stones of Naples (2009). Corde Oblique performed at notable festivals including Wave Gotik Treffen and Amphi Festival, sharing the stage with bands like Bauhaus and Opeth. The band has collaborated with various artists, notably Caterina Pontrandolfo on vocals. In 2020, Corde Oblique released The Moon is a Dry Bone under Dark Vinyl.
