Peter Andersen, known professionally as DQ, was born on February 16, 1973, in Køge, and is a Danish singer and drag queen. He began performing drag shows in 1997 while studying hairdressing. That same year, he launched his singing career with the band Tina Turner Jam, which made its live debut at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen. In 1998, he released the single "MissTerious", followed by the album Rock'n'Dance in 2000. The band later changed its name to Turn On Tina and continued performing for many years. After early performances in local clubs, he achieved visibility by winning the Danish Melodi Grand Prix in 2007, which led to his participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the entry "Drama Queen". However, the song placed 19th in the semi‑final with 45 points.
