Waxwing, an American indie rock band from Seattle, was formed in 1996 by Rocky Votolato and Rudy Gajadhar. They recruited Andrew Hartley as bassist and Cody Votolato as second guitarist. Their first release was a self-titled single in 1998 under Henry's Finest Recordings. Waxwing signed with Second Nature Recordings and released their debut album For Madmen Only in April 1999, which received favorable critical reviews. In 2000, they followed up with One for the Ride, solidifying their presence in Seattle’s underground scene. The band released a compilation album titled Intervention: Collection + Remix in April 2001 and concluded their discography with Nobody Can Take What Everybody Owns in June 2002. After extensive touring across the United States, Waxwing announced their disbandment in 2005, concluding with two farewell shows in Seattle that December.
