Lye by Mistake was an American experimental metal band from St. Louis established in 2004. The group incorporated elements of mathcore, progressive metal, and jazz fusion into its sound. Their recording career began with the debut eponymous extended play The Fabulous (2004) followed by the studio recording Arrangements for Fulminating Vective (2006). The latter work was mixed by producer Eric Rachel. Following the departure of vocalist Tony Saputo in 2008, the ensemble transitioned into an instrumental project. The ensemble released the studio recording Fea Jur (2009) through the label Black Market Activities. Lye by Mistake became inactive in 2011.
