Robert Øien Fylling, known professionally as Robert Post, was born in 1979 in Langevåg, Møre og Romsdal, Norway. He grew up in a musical family, learning drums and later trumpet, and wrote his first song, "Untouched," at age eight. He was later a member of the band Sissy Dogfish. In 2004, after years as a singer and songwriter, he signed a record deal with Mercury Records UK following standout performances at the by:Larm festival in Bergen. His self-titled debut album, produced by Mike Hedges, was released in August 2005, led by the singles "Got None" and "There's One Thing." "Got None" reached Number 1 on the Italian airplay chart and spent 20 weeks at the top of Norway's Hit40 chart, while the album sold 60,000 copies across Norway, France, Italy, and the UK. That year, Post also performed at Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival and won two Spellemannpriser (Norway's Grammy equivalent), including Best Male Artist. He toured extensively with artists including Aimee Mann, Rufus Wainwright, Jason Mraz, and Natalie Imbruglia. His later releases include the albums Disarm & Let Go (2009), Rhetoric (2011), and The Button Moulder (2013).
