Engerling, a German blues-rock band, was founded in 1975 in East Berlin by Rainer Lojewski and Wolfram Bodag. Their first singles, "Schwester Bessies Boogie / Mama Wilson" and "Der Zug Oder Die Weiße Ziege / Da Hilft Kein Jammern", were released in 1977 by Amiga. In 1979, their debut album was released, selling over 100,000 copies. The band became a professional band in April 1980 and continued to release albums such as Tagtraum ... (1981) and Egoland (1992). Engerling became known for their straightforward blues and boogie rock style, with notable songs like "Mama Wilson". The band collaborated extensively with Mitch Ryder, accompanying him on tours across Europe from 1994 to 2024.
