Five Horse Johnson is an American blues rock band formed in Toledo, Ohio, in 1995. They initially gained traction with their debut album Blues for Henry... (1996), followed by Double Down (1997) and Fat Black Pussy Cat (1999). They released The No. 6 Dance in 2001, which featured the track "Mississippi King" used in the video games Tony Hawk's Underground and NHL 2K6. Their sixth album, The Mystery Spot (2006), included collaborations with Jean-Paul Gaster of Clutch. They toured extensively alongside acts like Clutch and Halfway to Gone. After a hiatus, they returned in 2011 with a European tour and the release of The Taking of Black Heart (2013). Their discography also includes the albums The Last Men on Earth (2003) and Jake Leg Boogie (2017).
