Marcia Maria, born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was a Brazilian singer specializing in bossa nova and jazz music. She began her career in 1968 in Rio de Janeiro, and in 1978, she released albums such as Marcia Maria and Tambourine. She expanded her career internationally in the early 1980s by moving to Europe. She lived nine years in Belgium, then relocated to Paris, where she continued to perform in numerous French festivals. Her discography includes notable albums such as Colo de Rio (1985), Brasil Nativo (1988), and Passion (1994). She passed away on July 27, 2018.
