Babe the Blue Ox, an American alternative rock band from Brooklyn, was formed in 1991 and initially consisted of Tim Thomas on guitar and vocals, Rose Thomson on bass and vocals, and Hanna Fox on drums and vocals. Their early releases included the EP Je M'Appelle Babe (1993) and the album Box (1993). In 1995, they contributed "Hazmats" to the AIDS benefit album Red Hot + Bothered. The band's lineup expanded in 1998 with the addition of Eddie Gormley as a second drummer. They signed a two-album deal with RCA and released People (1996) and The Way We Were (1998). In 2013, after a hiatus, they released their album Guilty. Babe the Blue Ox has continued to write music collaboratively, while also recording and performing music with other projects.
