Ed Hall, an American noise rock group formed in Austin, Texas, in 1985. The band’s lineup included guitarist and vocalist Gary Chester, bassist Larry Strub, and drummers Kevin Whitley and, later Lyman Hardy. The group debuted with the single "Deth" in 1991. Their first full‑length album, Albert, appeared on Boner Records in 1988, followed by Love Poke Here in 1990. Signing with Trance Syndicate, they released Gloryhole (1991), Motherscratcher (1993), and La La Land (1995), the latter featuring the track "White House Girls". A final, unreleased project, Permission to Rock… Denied, was completed in 1996 before the band disbanded. Subsequent reunion shows in 2003, 2012, and 2014 reaffirmed their place within the Austin underground scene.
