YidCore was an Australian Jewish punk rock group formed in Melbourne in 1998 by lead vocalist Bram Presser and fellow students from Mount Scopus Memorial College. The band’s breakthrough came with the self‑titled debut album Yidcore in 2000, followed by the Great Chicken Soup Caper EP in 2002. In 2004, they released The Adam Slander E.P., which featured "The Punk Rock Chanukah Song". This was followed by the albums Eighth Day Slice and Fiddlin on Ya Roof in 2005, and They Tried to Kill Us. They Failed. Let’s Eat! in 2007. The group toured Israel three times, issuing live compilations such as Scrambles (2003) and Rocket to Rechovoth (2005). During their final tour in April 2008, they released The Hummusexual E.P.. After disbanding in 2009, YidCore reunited for sporadic shows, including a 2019 performance at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Their work was noted for blending punk energy with Jewish cultural themes.
