Apolonia is a segamaloya band from Reunion Island, formed in 1991 by brothers Jean-Bruno and Jean-Louis Escyle. The group made a name for itself with its cassettes, which were presented to local radio stations, who immediately signed up. Lot' Koulèr Lo Kèr in 1991, I Fo Five in 1992. In 20 years, the group has released a dozen albums and performed over a hundred songs, including "Angela" (1995), "Si Ton Ker Lé Pas Prêt" (2001) and "Mi Chante Po Ou Maman " (2004). The group toured all over La Réunion, from the most beautiful venues to the neighborhoods, but also in Madagascar and on mainland France, notably at L'Olympia in Paris. In 2011, Kossa i dit is the band's eleventh studio album, released to mark their twentieth anniversary. While the group continues to tour, it fades for a few years. For the thirtieth anniversary of their "segamaloya", Jean-Bruno Escyle gathered new musicians around him to release Koulèr Maron in 2021, and set off again on tour around the Indian Ocean.
