Morgan Lewis, known as Morganics, is an Australian hip-hop performer and rapper based in Cairns. He started performing in Sydney in 1984 and was a member of Metabass'n'Breath, touring Australia and the United States with the group. Morganics was involved in community educational hip-hop projects, including the 1999 Desert Rap with Brothablack and Monkey Mark from South West Syndicate, which was documented by ABC TV. In 2002, he recorded "Down The River" with a group of local boys called The Wilcannia Mob, a track that won a Deadly award and was included on the compilation All You Mob, which was named in the New York Times' top ten alternative albums of the year. His solo releases include Evolve (2003) and Hip Hop is my Passport (2007). He directed and acted in Australia's first hip-hop feature film, Survival Tactics.
