Dana Ciocarlie, born November 26, 1968 in Bucharest, Romania, is a French classical pianist and teacher of Romanian origin. After winning her first prize at the Bucharest Conservatory in 1990, she studied at the École normale de musique de Paris under Viktoria Melki and completed her training at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris under Dominique Merlet and Georges Pludermacher. Her discography includes the solo piano releases Schubert: Sonates D.960, 3 Klavierstücke D.946 (1996), Romania (2000), and La Langue maternelle (2005), as well as Marie Jaëll, Musique symphonique et musique pour piano : Les beaux jours (2015). In chamber music, she recorded Rubinstein: Sonate pour violon, Sonate pour alto (2003) and Dvořák: Quintette avec piano n° 2 (2007). She performed as a soloist with the Open Chamber Orchestra and collaborated with musicians such as Gilles Apap and Christian Zacharias. Finalist at the 2018 Victoires de la musique classique in the Recording of the Year category, she was awarded prizes from the Yamaha Foundation (1993), the Cziffra Foundation (1994), the Pro Musicis prize (1996), and received the Grand Prix Antoine Livio in 2017.
